Your Visit: What to Expect & How to Prepare

We’re looking forward to seeing you at The JawSpine Centre.

This page provides information to help you prepare for your appointment and understand our office policies.  If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

Please note that NO referral is necessary to schedule an initial assessment.

Many patients are referred to us by other healthcare providers, such as doctors and dentists. However, to ensure your health insurance plan covers the cost of your visit, it’s advisable to confirm whether they require a referral for reimbursement.

Before Your First Appointment

Getting Ready for Your First Visit

Please bring your insurance card, a photo ID, and a list of any medications you are currently taking (including dosages).  If you have any relevant medical records, such as X-rays or reports from other doctors, please bring those as well.

Yes, to save time, all new patient forms will be sent to your email so you can complete the forms before your appointment. If you prefer, you can arrive 15 minutes early to complete them in our office as well.

Consider making a list of your symptoms. Be ready to discuss how long you have been experiencing your symptoms and what makes them better or worse. If you can, bring a friend of family member with you to your appointment.

Your first visit will typically take 30-45 minutes and involve a thorough discussion of your medical history and current concerns.  Our Chiropractors and Jaw & Orofacial Pain therapists will conduct a physical examination and may recommend further diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, if needed. We’ll work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan
